Dear sisters and brothers!
Radjab month is approaching – the first one of the blessed months to be the prelude to the glorious month of Ramazan – the most precious crown of all the months. Radjab is the month when there are the most favorable opportunities to repent, to ask for forgiveness, to obtain dignity and self-respect. This is the month when there is the unique chance to get cured of lie, backbiting and slander.
So, let us ask ourselves: “Are we ready for this month?”

The recommended actions during Radjab month.

*It is Mustahab (an action to be rewarded) to make gusl (full washing of a body) at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of Radjab month. This action will, inshaallah, lead to forgiveness of sins. *It is Mustahab to observe orudj (fasting) over all the days of Radjab, which will, inshaalah, lead to forgiveness of sins. *And everyone may observe as many days of orudj as he will be happy to have. *To observe at least three days of orudj within Radjab month is the great grace. *Those unable to observe orudj within Radjab month may, if possible, give alms. *Those unable to observe orudj and to give alms may utter a zikr (the holiest names of Allah and praises to Him). *Within Radjab month it is also recommended to visit tombs of Mesums (a) – Saint people. *To repent, to ask for forgiveness and to ask the Most High Allah for indulgence during Radjab month is the great grace. *It is also very much recommended to utter a tehlil (“La ilaha illallah” – “There is no other deity but Allah!”)

HADIS. About Radjab month.

On behalf of Imam Sadig (a): “On the Judgment Day from the heavens there will come a herald’s voice: “Where are you, the adherents of the blessed month of Radjab?” And responding to this voice there will stand up a group of people and the light of their faces will illuminate all those around. On their heads there will be sultan crowns decorated with precious stones and rubies. Each of them will have thousands of angels on their right and left sides. And (the angels) utter: “Oh, the blessed slave of Allah! Welcome! Let the good of Allah rewarded to you be blessed for you!” And the words of the Most High Allah / Who has neither image nor similarity / will be delivered to them. *Oh, my humble male and female slaves! I swear by my izzat and jalal / the Most High Allah swears by his most beautiful, most majestic, incomparable, unique names / that I will define your status as the highest one and will reward you with a great number of good. And I will reward you with the paradise palaces under which there flow (good) rivers. And you will rise to the paradise forever. And this most beautiful lot is for those who were zealous. You voluntarily, exclusively in My name, observed orudj in the month, which I defined as the highest one and prescribed as the obligatory action – the respectful attitude to it (to this month). Oh, My angels! Rise these (good) male and female slaves to the paradise! *And this reward is for those who will observe orudj during this month. And even (if he observes) at least one day within this month: at the beginning, in the middle or at the end.

MOVLUD (BIRTHDAY).

The 1st of Radjab month, the 57th year of hidjra is the birthday of the fifth imam – Imam Muhammed Bagir (a).

SHEHADET.
On the 3rd of Radjab month, the 254th year of hidjra there was killed as a shehid on the way of Allah the tenth imam – Imam Hadi (a), more known as Imam Ali Nagi (a).

PULSE OF THE DAY.
Information of “Juma Mosque” religious community press service:
On the 9th August the religious community “Juma Mosque” held an event to discuss the events preceding the appeals court session of the 11th August. The speakers at the meeting also expressed their attitude towards the slanderous and provocative information delivered by the mass media one day before.
The members of the community once again stated that the religious community “Juma Mosque” was always radically against violence. Thus, even during the police seizure of “Juma” mosque and over the following days the believers did not break the law despite the continuous provocations. The religious community protects its rights only by non-violent methods and exclusively in a legal aspect.
Imam-jamaat of “Juma” mosque Ilgar Ibrahimoglu made a statement at the meeting concerning the latest provocation attempts: “These events can be considered as the provocations against the community connected to the court hearing of the appeal complaint on the 11th August 2004. But, in any case, we condemn any violence against anyone and are radically against it. It is obvious for everyone that over the whole twelve years the religious community of “Juma” mosque has only acted in the civilized aspect and within the framework of the law. We once again recommend that all the believers should not fall to any provocations, and taking no notice of all these slanderous accusations and rumors, they should keep protecting their constitutional rights only by law and in court bodies.”

On the 11th August 2004, at the initiative of the religious community “Juma Mosque” in Baku press club there was held the round table discussion on the subject: “Juma Mosque: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”. Members of the community, journalists and human rights activists participated in that event.
In his opening address at the meeting imam-jamaat of “Juma” mosque Ilgar Ibrahimoglu said that over the recent time the pressure on the religious community “Juma Mosque” had grown more intense. Over the last 40 days the police without any reasons have arrested 79 members of the community. Despite the fact that thanks to the efforts of human rights activists and journalists the above people were released, the persecutions are still going on. Many charitable programs carried out by the religious community are under threat of being terminated. Members of the religious community are fully deprived of all the rights for the freedom of religion.
At the same time it was noted that the indirect mentioning of the religious community having something to do with the last events was absolutely absurd and lacking any sound logic. The members of the religious community further spoke about the carried out programs, in particular, about the programs “Asma-ul-Husna”, “Motherland without Orphans”, “Love for Motherland is the Result of Faith” “Struggle against drugs addiction and alcoholism”. They said that the community propagandized the moral and ethical values and was far from any violence and intolerance.
At the end of the event there were answered the journalists’ questions. It is very symbolical that to the question of one journalist: “There has been told about yesterday and today of “Juma” mosque, but why has not there been said a word about tomorrow?” there was answered as follows: “Unfortunately, the continuation of these nice programs carried out by the religious community are under threat of being terminated!”
