PRAYER
From the prayer of Imam Sajad (s) upon coming of the holy month Ramazan: “… Oh, my Allah! Bless Muhammed (s) and his Ahli Beyt (a) and let us understand the advantages of this month! Help us treat it with due respect and help us restrain from what You prohibited within this month! Help us observe the fasting so that we can restrain the parts of our body from sins and apply them for the deeds pleasing for You, not to listen to vapid words, not to watch entertainments and profligation, not to stretch hands towards the forbidden, not to move to the not allowed and not to fill stomachs with that not allowed by You!
Let our tongues say nothing but Your word and the torments, which we undertook to bear get us closer to Your reward! Let us do only the deeds, which save us from Your punishment!
Oh, God! I ask You to save these deeds from cunning of hypocrites and from gossip of tale tellers! Make me worship only You so that I do not look for other goal but You!…”
On behalf of the Prophet of Islam (s):
“There is no night the angel of death (Azrail (a)) does not call for the dead men lying in graves, asking:
“Who do you envy now that you with your own eyes have seen the other world and have been terrified by what you have seen?” And the dead men answer him:
“We envy the believers in mosques because they pray while we do not, they pay zakat while we do not, they observe fasting during the month Ramazan while we do not, and if their income exceeds the needs of their families, they give alms and we do not…”
HADIS
About prosperity
On behalf of Imam Sadig (a):
“Truly, availability of a sinful intention makes a true believer deprived of prosperity.”
Lessons resulting from the hadis
1.Indication of the direct connection between prosperity and sins of a believer;
2.It is seen from the hadis that as the intention for sin can make a favorable basis for the actual sin, then not only the sin itself but also the intention to sin negatively affects the prosperity of a man;
3.For preventive purposes on order not to put oneself under new and new hardship, a man must analyse his deeds even at the level of intentions.
About forgiveness
On behalf of Imam Ali (a): “The worst of vices is being not able to forgive and the worst of sins is haste in revenge.”
About achievement of a goal
On behalf of Prophet of Islam (s):
“The one who tirelessly knocks at a certain door (will get) it (sooner or later) open and the man will enter this door.”
Prayer
On behalf of the Holiest Prophet (s): “I and the prophets who were before me, being in Arafat, most often say the following prayer:
«ALLAHUMMASHRAH LI SADRI WA YASSIR LI AMRI WA A’UZU BIKE MIN WAS-WASIS-SUDURI WAT-TASHATTUTIL-UMUR»
(Oh, Allah! Present me width of soul, make my deeds easy! I seek salvation with You from not motivated, irrelevant botherings coming from Satan and from chaos of my deeds!)”
HADIS
About Sileyi-Rahim (Visit to close people)
On behalf of Imam Jafar Sadig (a): “Sileyi-Rahim/visit to close people/contributes to easying the account (for one’s deeds) on the Judgment Day, to prolonging the life and will save from bad death.”
Remark: The holy religion Islam, supporting any constructive activities in the society, welcomes sileyi-rahim, that is the warmth and sincerity in the initial links of a society, in inter-family relations. Islam stresses that these relations, in essence, are of fundamental nature and keeping these relations provides positive dynamics in public life.
About the good of destemaz (ritual washing)
On behalf of Prophet of Islam (s): “Taking destemaz before a meal will prevent poverty and taking destemaz after a meal will prevent in appropriate doubts and troubles (coming from Satan) and will improve vision.”
