SHEHADET
In the 40th year of hijra, on the 19th of Ramazan month during the morning namaz (prayer) in the mosque of the city if Kufa, there was made an attempt on the life of Amiral-muminin (the lord of true believers) Imam Ali (a). Two days later, on the 21st (this year the indicated date corresponds to the 5th of November) of Ramazan month he achieved the level of shehid – he fell in the martyr death in the name of the Most High Allah.
HADIS. About Imam Ali (a)
On behalf of the Prophet of Islam (s):
“Oh, my dear Ali! The faith has penetrated into your flesh and blood the way it has penetrated into my flesh and blood”.
Dear sisters and brothers!
One third of Ramazan month has already passed. The month when a true believer takes part in the divine feast. Let us try to live through the rest of this month with the best outcome, with the maximum use for oneself, for one’s personality, through the rest of the month, during which there are provided extreme opportunities for penance, existential salvation, achievement of forgiveness, learning of sciences, spiritual enrichment, establishing oneself on the way of perfection. The particular attention should be paid to prayers as one of the most effective means to change a destiny for the better, a prayer, which, in essence, is one of the most efficient weapon of a true believer.
The night Qadr – one of the most important programs of Ramazan month
The night Qadr exceeds 1000 of months. This is the night, which is said to be higher than 1000 months of jihad, of 1000 months of ruling. This is the blessed night, during which there is determined prosperity of people, their death hour and other matters related to existence. This is the night, during which there was sent down the holy Koran. The Koran itself narrates about the majesty of this night.
In the hadises on behalf of the Ahli-Beit (a) it is said:
“… On the night Qadr angels come down on the Earth and disperse around the world; they visit gatherings of true believers; they greet them with “salam” and say “Amin!” to prayers raised by true believers and it goes on until the very dawn”. And some more: “… Allah will turn down nobody’s prayer but that of those rising against their parents, those who terminated links with relatives, those who drink alcohol and those of true believers who keep in their soul hostile feelings in respect of another true believer.”
The lessons resulting from the above texts:
1. The night Qadr is the culmination point of Ramazan month;
2. The night Qadr is of the status, which is incomparably higher than even such most important categories as the holy war and fair ruling;
3. It becomes clear that worshipping on the night Qadr, by its quality, is higher than 1000 months of worshipping in different time; in its turn, this factor testifies the exceptional opportunity provided on this night for a human to influence his further destiny and to become a perfect man;
4. The night Qadr is the very period of time when a human’s problems related to existence are settled;
5. The Holy Koran given by the Most High Allah for salvation of a human, was sent down exactly on this night;
6. The Holy Koran itself, which is the Message of the Most High Allah narrates about this night;
7. There is provided the information about the special mission of angels;
8. It becomes known that the angles, by means of their participation, enrich the gatherings of true believers;
9. Angels’ greetings addressed to true believers gathered together testify the extreme importance of taking part in such gatherings;
10. The circumstance that angles accompany by saying “AMIN!” (Let it be!) the prayers raised by true believers testify the especial importance of such prayers raised together;
11. In addition to the fact that rising against parents, terminating the links with relatives, drinking alcohol are great sins by essence, they are also a big obstacle for Allah to accept prayers (in order not to get deprived of the Night Qadr grace, the people who did such or other big and small sin actions need, in addition to sincere penance, to obtain forgiveness from the people whose rights they violated);
12. Such a paradox as keeping in a soul of a true believer the hostile feelings in respect of another true believer is not just not welcomed, but as a result of the Most High’s anger to this action, makes the acceptance of this man’s prayers impossible.
About spending ahya (awakening) nights related to the Night Qadr
I. Night ahya – is the night from 18th to 19th of Ramazan month (2nd to 3rd November);
II. Night ahya – is the night from 20th to 21st of Ramazan month (from 4th to 5th November);
III. Night ahya – is the night from 22nd to 23rd of Ramazan month (from 6th to 7th November);
REMARK:
It is recommended to observe ahya (to keep awake) all the nights of Ramzan Month, if it is possible. But if it is impossible, then it is recommended to observe the ahya beginning from the 18th to the 19th of Ramazan Month and up to the end of the month. And if it is also related to certain difficulties, then it is best to observe ahya during the above-mentioned three nights of the blessed Month Ramazan.
HADIS. About a sin
On behalf of Imam Ali (a):
“Sins is the disease and the remedy for it is a penance, and the recovery is not returning to this sin”.
On behalf of Imam Ali (a): “When you do a sin remember that these one moment enjoyments are transitional and the bitterness of results will remain ”.
On behalf of Imam Ali (a): “I am surprised at a man who keeps to a diet because of digestion difficulties, but who neglects the bitter lot, the torments resulting from a sin and who does not stop doing sins”.
CONTEST
The 25th August 1992 is the day of liberation of “Juma” mosque. The religious community «Juma Mosque» annually celebrates this good date in a special way. This year, with regard to the 12th anniversary of liberation of “Juma” mosque, the religious community declares the contest for the following nominations:
1) The best picture;
2) The best work of children’s art;
3) The best photograph;
4) The best poem;
5) The best story;
6) The best surud (Islamic music);
7) The best paragraph for a newspaper column;
8) The best analytical material.
Taking into account the wishes of believers, it is hereby made known that the time of the contest has been prolonged until the end of the bright month Ramazan.
