HADIS. About gratitude
On behalf of Imam Sadig (a):
“The curse of Allah will affect those of people who block the way for kindness”. He was asked: “But who are those who block the way for kindness?” He said: “This is the one who does not thank a man who did him (something) good; (because) in its turn it makes the man who had done a good deed stop doing good in respect of others”.
On behalf of Imam Zeinalabdin (a):
“On the Judgment Day the Most High Allah will ask His slave: “Did you thank the one who did you good?”” The man will say in reply: “I thanked You, oh my Allah!” There will come the voice of the Most High: “No, you did not thank Me as you did not thank that man”. Then He will add: “Those of you who thank people a lot (can be called) the ones giving many thanks to Allah”.
Lessons resulting from the hadises:
1. Even such, at first sight, not very significant action as thanking is actually one of the most important aspects of moral-educational setting up of a society;
2. Islam brings to people the importance of observing at least minimal ethical regulations when communicating with others and the significance of thanking people as a form of thanking the Most High Allah.
HADIS. About a status of a woman
The Messenger (a) of Allah told his wife Ummu Salama:
“(You are to know that) a pregnant woman has a savab (a deed to be rewarded by the Most High) equal to savab of a man who carries out jihad by his soul, body and property on the way of Allah. And when she gives birth to a child she is told: “The Most High Allah forgives you the sins (done so far). Start your life again”. When a woman feeds a child with maternal milk, for each feeding she obtains a savab equal to a savab for setting free from slavery a man from Prophet Ishmael origin (…obtains such a savab as if she has set someone free from slavery…)”.
Lessons resulting from the hadis:
1. From the point of view of assessing the savabs, in Islamic scale of values the status of a woman is not lower in any way than a status of a man (unlike the opinion of some ignorant people);
2. The Creator, who defines everything on the basis of His divine wisdom and justice, for different people defines the criteria for deeds assessment taking into account, among other points, their physiological peculiarities.
HADIS. About trade
On behalf of the Prophet of Islam (s):
“While doing the sale-purchase operation everyone must either beware the following four things or stop trading:
1) to take interest percentage;
2) to swear (during the trade);
3) to conceal the faults of the goods;
4) to praise the goods upon selling and to criticize the goods upon purchasing”.
HADIS. About moral
On behalf of Imam Ali:
“The highest manifestation of moral qualities is teghaful (non-manifestation of being informed). The one who does not observe teghaful, who does not overlook most of the events (meant is not to notice or not to show being informed, for example, of someone’s negative deeds) dooms himself to a sad and hard lot. No patience, knowledge and life wisdom can be compared to teghaful.”
Lesson resulting from the hadis:
Islam, as a result of defining for a man of the optimal and rational lifestyle, for achievement of optimal and rational results, prescribes the use of the information at the disposal of a man only with the purpose of manifesting the best results and in the most acceptable form. This particularly has to do with preventing the destructive factors in interpersonal relations and with bringing the society, as a whole, to a creative vector. Teghaful is not being not informed, it does not mean to stay unaware. This is, in the name of Allah, suppressing one’s primitive emotions, non-manifestation of one’s being informed if not appropriate. This is the immunity functioning as a filter for a society with the purpose of precluding destructive activities and achieving the dynamics of the moral progress of a society.
HADIS. About purification of a soul
On behalf of the Holiest Prophet of Islam (s): “When a man’s soul is pure, then his body /from the point of view of doing deeds/ becomes pure, but when his soul is soiled by dirty things /sinful actions/, then his body is soiled as well”.
On behalf of Imam Bagir (a): “The best of sciences is the science, which secures health and the health of a soul is most important”.
